Apollo was in Town! (oh and Kentec as well!)

Earlier this month we had the opportunity to welcome representatives from Apollo Fire Detectors to our facility in King of Prussia. Gary Craig Sales Director of Apollo was accompanied by Keith Bowler, Apollo’s new International Sales Manager for US & Latin America. Keith has joined Apollo following a very successful 24 year career with Honeywell.

Keith is going to play a major role in the liaison between VES, Apollo and our mutual customers and will provide a valuable interface between customers and the expanding development team at Apollo in the US.

The line up from left to right:

Tim O'Leary (VES Controller), Andy Johannsen (VES Director of Sales), Natalie O'Connell (VES Customer Service), Ray King (President of VES), Keith Bowler (Apollo's International Sales Manager), Gary Craig (Sales Director of Apollo) and Jay Cohen (VES Director of Engineering & Application Development).

What you may not know…

The VES addressable heat detector from Apollo is quite unique in the marketplace. The VF5602 boasts 5 operation modes, spanning 135-200ºF and options for fixed temperature and/or rate-of-rise characteristics out of one model number! (see the chart below). Why stock multiple addressable heat sensors?

Because the VF5602-00 sensor is also UL certified for an ambient temperature range of 32-150ºF, it is able to be used in places where other heat sensors simply cannot go. When programmed for modes 4 or 5 (200ºF), the sensor can be placed in much warmer places than the competition.

Another great application is facilitated by all VES control panels’ day/night capabilities for intelligent detection. For instance, it would be possible to program a commercial kitchen heat detector for a “Day” mode at 200ºF Fixed while the kitchen is in operation and a “Night” mode of 135º fixed & rate-of-rise when the facility is idle.

For more information on the VF5602-00 sensor, please view the spec sheet.
